Vidya is a graduate from BITS Pilani and after working in Corporate America for more than a decade, quit her high paying job to start a textiles brand with a mission to make Indian handlooms accessible and affordable to people. Working with more than 100+ weavers and artisans from the various weaving communities in India, she brings indigenous weaves to women around the world. She is also a professional storyteller narrating stories to children across the globe. She focuses on stories from Indian Vedic texts by drawing parallels and making it relevant to today’s age. Her engaging storytelling sessions have helped children to laugh, bond and learn with each other.
Lakshmi Sitaram
Lakshmi Sitaram, PhD.,A seasoned learning professional with over 20 years of experience in education, learning and leadership (16 years with IBM). I have worn many hats in my career- facilitator, human resources, project manager, instructional designer, people manager, program manager and learning consultant. As a result I have a unique ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects, to navigate complex challenges and work with people from varied cultures and backgrounds. With educational background in psychology and human development, I firmly believe learning is a lifelong process and look forward to align myself with like-minded people and teams. I am proud to be leading a team of highly experienced, enthusiastic and engaged instructors as part of Transformation and Facilitator Excellence leadership role. It’s my job to set the tone to build trust, help them collaborate, remove obstacles that hinder productivity and help them learn and grow continuously. With zeal and passion, we will be essential to IBM’s transformation journey and help to create next generation of leaders. I am a Ph.D in Emotional Intelligence, have been involved in coaching individuals on EI and designing sessions and programs on emotional intelligence. I am certified trainer in using Geno’s Emotional Intelligence tool, HBDI and MBTI. I am passionate about understanding and applying emotional intelligence in my life and helping others to apply as well. I practice yoga and meditation on a daily basis. Listening to inspirational videos and reading books/articles on spirituality, mindfulness and yoga is my favorite pastime. I attend a 11 day Vipassana course (silent meditation) every year which focuses on mindfulness meditation. I manage a homestay in south India which is one of my weekend getaways to recharge.
Lakshmi Malhotra
Lakshmi Malhotras,An IT and management professional with 20+ years of experience, Lakshmi has worked with large MNCs . Her passion for handlooms led her to setup an initiative ‘Resham Dor’ 5 years back with the initial intent to create awareness about handlooms and craft. Resham Dor has been setup as a social enterprise. Our vision is to revive dying handloom clusters in India and establish artisans as custodians of art leading to the revival of Kharad rugs in Kutch. In parallel, she is also looking at how use of disruptive technologies like Blockchain, AI can be a game changer for the handloom and craft industry
